Where Am I?

Where am I? This is a question every child asks.
Where do I begin? Where do I end? What do I want?
These questions — within their process of individuation — are also an opportunity to meet your own journey as their parent, the journey in parenthood. And also the journey of your own individuation in childhood, to look at it. This is a wonderful space for a more balanced, or simply empowering and loving experience.
Sometimes your child is like a reverse mirror, perhaps a clear mirror. That can be overwhelming. True. That overwhelm is wonderful information for growth work with yourself.
So within all the difficulty and overwhelm with your child, it's also possible — after the flood — to make room for the voice that is grateful for the path and the opportunity.
And sometimes, the child is the child you once were. And this isn't parenting — it's a journey of meeting between the child within you and yourself. And this too, with all the difficulty, can be a gift.
